Saratoga Springs will not advance proposed demolition-review changes

Mayor John Safford said the decision applies to proposed changes in both the Historic District and the Architectural District.

Saratoga Springs will not move forward at this time with proposed changes to demolition review in the Historic District or the Architectural District, Mayor John Safford announced Oct. 13.

The changes were part of a proposed amendment to the city’s Unified Development Ordinance, known as the UDO. In a city announcement, Safford said the decision followed public feedback and concerns about the proposal.
