518News respects reader privacy and aims to collect only the information reasonably needed to operate, secure and improve the website.
Website usage information
Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may record standard technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, request times, requested pages and related server-log data.
518News also maintains basic article page-view counts to understand which published stories are being read. These counters are intended to measure readership activity rather than identify individual readers.
Information you provide
If you voluntarily submit information to 518News through a future contact form, tip form, email address or other interactive feature, that information may be used to respond to your request and operate the relevant service.
Advertising and third-party services
518News is an advertising-supported publication in development. At present, Google AdSense advertising has not been activated on this website.
When Google advertising is introduced, Google and its partners may use cookies, advertising identifiers and similar technologies to display advertisements, measure performance and, where permitted, personalize advertising. These technologies may involve information about visits to this website and other websites.
Readers can learn how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services by visiting Google's privacy information. Google's advertising personalization controls are available through My Ad Center.
518News will update this policy when advertising or additional third-party services are activated. Where legally required, appropriate privacy choices and consent mechanisms will be provided.
Policy updates
This policy may change as 518News adds new features or services. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
