Eastern Clinton County is under a wind advisory until 4 p.m. EDT Oct. 16, with south winds of 20 to 30 mph and gusts up to 45 mph, according to the National Weather Service in Burlington.

The strongest gusts are expected along southeast-facing shorelines and across Lake Champlain. The weather service said winds will blow around unsecured objects and could bring down tree limbs, potentially causing a few power outages.

Strong winds can also make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. The weather service advised drivers to use extra caution and urged people to secure outdoor objects.

The advisory also covers Grand Isle County and western portions of Chittenden and Franklin counties in Vermont.
