Water service will be shut off starting at 7 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, for Ten Broeck Street, Brookman Avenue, Rockefeller Road, Mill Street and the medical building at 25 Delaware Ave., according to the Town of Bethlehem.
The shutoff is planned for water main repairs. The town did not provide a restoration time but said it would issue an update Monday when water service is back on.
Also beginning Monday, the town Department of Public Works plans to install a new water main within the utility easement on Ten Broeck Street. The project is expected to take one to two weeks, with minimal disruption anticipated, according to the town.
The department said it will make efforts to notify affected households before planned water service interruptions. Areas disturbed by construction will be restored to their original condition after the work is complete.
After water service is restored, residents may notice discolored water, which could stain laundry. In a separate notice, the town advises running water until it clears before washing laundry if discoloration occurs.
The town published these precautions in its earlier announcement: townofbethlehem.org
